The Pieces of Fate Affair is the twenty-third episode of the Third Season of 'The Man from U.N.C.L.E.' and stars Robert Vaughn as chief enforcement agent Napoleon Solo and David McCallum as his partner, agent Illya Kuryakin.

Synopsis[]

Jacqueline Midcult writes a best selling novel, The Pieces of Fate, which U.N.C.L.E. recognizes as based on a series of missing THRUSH diaries.[1]

Trivia[]

  • Previous titles for the episode were 'The Missing Diaries Affair' and 'The Novel Affair.'[2]
  • This episode wasn't shown again in the U.S. until 1985, due to Ellison naming a literary critic after real-life science fiction writer Judith Merril, which resulted in legal action being taken, not by Merril herself (a friend of Ellison) but by her daughter.[1]
